Clean by Amy Reed

Clean is a good book based around a group of teenagers who attend rehab for their drug problems. The only thing the group of five have is the hate for the rehabilitation center and their addiction to drugs. This book is a good insight towards rehab centers and how teens deal with their addiction. Amy did a great job giving each teen a memorable attribute and creating diversity among them. Each of them have distinctive backgrounds and if it were not for their addiction  they probably would not have met each other. Christopher is a fairly normal kid, he attends church and helps his obese mother who ends up addicted to crack.  Olivia is the neat freak of the group, she was taught that being perfect is everything. Her obsession turned into OCD and a case of anorexia. Kelly is the  popular girl in their group she is pretty and addicted to alcohol, sex and cocaine. Jason is a cool kid and he is an alcoholic. Eva was crushed by her mothers death and her father was dull, out of grief got addicted to painkillers to numb her pain. This book is put into the perspective of all five teens and third person when they are all together. It has a good flow and is well written over all.

3 Thumbs up.
