Beautiful By Amy Reed Review

       In the book Beautiful Cassie moves from a small town to Seattle. Cassie makes a change from the dorky kid at school to the to cool for school kid. Being cool isn't everything she thought it would be. Amy Reed did a good job on making it easy to read between the lines. You can tell thought the book Cassie did not like who she became.Cassie is on a downward spiral and her life is quickly changing around. Teens can easily relate to this book. Cassie lies about the truth of who she is just to fit in. sometimes you dig a whole to deep you can't get out. Along her journey Cassie stumbles upon a group of people she calls her friends. Non of her new friends know what she is like or who she really is. it is the perfect opportunity to start fresh. Her new group of friends introduce her to a new world of things, things that are not always  good. She sticks with them because they are her new friends and she is now considered a cool kid.  But is being considered cool all that matters when is sends you on a spiral heading downwards?

The Earth My Butt and Other Big Round Things Review By Carolyn Mackler Every Gril is insecure, about what though? In the book The Earth My Butt and Other Round Things Virginia 'Gin' Shreves is insecure about her weight. A long with worrying about her wait other problems occur in her life.  Gin Used to look up to her older brother Byron Shreves so much that is until he got into some trouble at school. As for Gin's social life, her best friend has moved to Walla Walla and she is left lonely, or is she?  *SPOILER ALERT DON'T READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK I'LL TELL YOU WHEN IT IS OKAY TO READ AGAIN : )*  So you thought Froggy The Fourth was going to be a poop and not talk to Gin in school, Same. After Gin snapped at Froggy He still joined her Webazine. Froggy turns out to be her perfect prince charming. By then end things smooth over with her and her family. Even though they pressure her about loosing weight and fitting in. Virginia Shreves finally becomes more comfortable and confident with her body. That is the best thing a character/person can develop, Self confidence. * OKAY YOU CAN CONTINUE READING HERE!* This book is a fantastic book for teenagers. Teens can really relate to this book because it is written in the eyes of a teen. Virginia's problems are relateable  and that is probably why this book can be so enjoyable.

Final Humor Assingment

Sorry, My Comic Life will not upload :/ To me humor is anything and everything that is funny, from puns to irony. Anything that can break the ice and make someone chuckle is a joke no matter how bad the joke. In our project we used exaggeration, puns, and play on things. Poking fun about something ridiculous is funny, that’s what most comedians do. They make fun of outrageous things such as fur coats like Jody likes to wear. It is rude comedy but it is the easiest form and it makes people laugh. Exaggeration made this project easy because you just pick out flaws and take it to the extreme. I did not particularly find this project too challenging. Some of the hard parts were making jokes that were funny. A lot of people perceive different things as funny, one person may think irony is funny and on may think farce is far greater. Trying to include everything was the biggest challenge, but we felt exaggeration was the funniest.

Humor Assingment: Flipped

My book Flipped is of the Farce variety in the comedy world. In the book Bryce the small minded boy goes from hating July with a passion to passionately liking July. After admitting to his best friend Garret that he now loves the girl he hated Garret states Bryce has flipped. July no longer likes Bryce because; she thinks he is not greater than the sum of his parts, after an incident. The irony in this book is what makes it farce. This book may not be Haha funny but it is ironic how he disliked her from the start and fell for her at the end. I found it funny the way things flipped around, then worked out in the end. Both July and Bryce got to see each other in a different light. I thought it was also funny how Bryce was knocking July's door no longer than a week after he said how can anyone like July Baker. The whole book is an ironic mess.

How to trick people into thinking you look good, take Snooki for example.

In this Video here --> .... Jenna Marbles questions what Beauty is thought of today. Who would have thought being an Oompa Loompa was hard work, apparently it is easier than it looks. It is funny how Jenna Marbles sarcastically teaches her viewers how to "look good". She over exaggerates everything thing in this video to make it funny.



In this next video here -> ... <-- This video stereo types dog lovers. It over uses phrases you might here a dog owner say. If you are dog perso don't be offended because you would have most likely used one of these phrases, that is what makes it funny is because it is true. Depending whether you find exaggeration funny you will most likely enjoy this video.

Second Satire

Thanks google for making me look lazy. I think I deserve some recognition for taking you for a run when you wanted to walk, I have your health in mind. Dragging you through the dirt is one of my tactics to get you to take a shower. You may not know this but I am very smart a lot more than you think I am. I know you did not through the ball it is still in your hand fool. If you need any help with herding sheep I am all for helping and receiving treats. I do not mean to brag but! I bet my tummy can hold more treats than yours, wanna have an eating contest. I'll definitely work better the eating contest and my nap, maybe if it is not too hot I will help. For today I think i will just lounge around and eat treats on the porch and watch you work all day, Have fun :)

First Satire Blog Post

I think we should have shorter vacations, infact no vacations at all! School all day everyday! The only time we should no be in school is when we are sleeping or eating or in the washroom. School is so important we should never be let out. Who wouldn't want to leave? Our teachers love our manors and adore the respect we give them. Since we only need 8 hours of sleep a day we can go until bed time and wake up early so that we won't miss a minute! Over all grades are the most important thin in a childs life. I mean it's not like we have a life outside of school. Oh and sports, oh heavens no! Who needs exercise, the only exercise we need is for our brain. Children don't need anything else in their life, education tops all.

The American Dream As the thought that everyone could live a happy cheerful life. They could achieve this dream by living very successfully. The American dream also included no discrimination against any persons nationality, religion nothing. Unfortunatly it will never be achivble considering the fact that there is still racism in the world. These were the original concepts of the American Dream. The Dream still lives on.

The Migrant Experience

During the time of the 'Dust Bowl/Great Depression' my whole farm went poof and disapeared just like that. I had to set out for new work. 'The Mother Road' or as you may know it Highway 66, brought us hope.When we finally got  there we saw some people heading back and went to see what in the Sam heck was going on. Turns out that they were not  allowed to cross the boarder of California. Luckily we made it,  it was like a weight had been lifted. With the amount of jobs availble me and my family were able to get a few. We were not the only ones finding ourselfs in a pickle, the Mexican immergrants did aswell. The locals were not too welcoming, they called us names. The Arvin Migratory Labor Camp set up by the FSA(Farm Security Administation) opend in 1937 was not  ideal. Lets just say peoples heath was not at the top of  their list. Better than nothing I guess. Atleast they had enertainment set up for us at the camp and gave us hope.
